Severn People Directory Landscape

Severn is a census-designated place, not an incorporated Maryland town. That geography shapes every directory search. Anne Arundel County lists departments and selected staff, the school system lists educators, and Maryland maintains a state employee phone book. Property and deed indexes act as name directories for owners and parties to land instruments. Historical names are better served by library newspapers, cemetery indexes, probate records, and census tools than by printed Severn household books.

Choose the source by relationship, not by the word “directory.” A department filter works for a teacher. A state agency selector works for a Maryland employee. An address is the practical starting point for a current property owner, while a surname and cemetery name can place a deceased relative. Past occupants who never owned land may appear only in newspapers, census schedules, school material, probate, or obituaries.

Severn School Staff Directories

The AACPS staff search accepts a staff name and an optional department choice. It is the broad county school directory. The separate Severn Elementary faculty page is more local and groups people by school role. It includes the principal, assistant principal, office staff, classroom grades, cultural arts, special education, health room, cafeteria, and custodial staff. No coverage date, export, or historical archive is stated for either source.

The live AACPS search is shown on the school system's official directory.

Its name and department controls help distinguish similarly named educators across Anne Arundel schools.

The Severn Elementary roster provides the neighborhood-level view.

That role-based layout can reveal which office or grade group to contact even when a full county search is too broad.

Severn Government Contact Directories

There is no Severn city hall or municipal staff list. Start with the Anne Arundel County directory for an office, board, commission, or service. Its optional keyword box filters organizations and subjects. Entries may show an organization name, service summary, parent department, phone, email, and detail link. It is not a complete employee roster, so a missing personal name proves little.

The Inspections and Permits staff table is more specific. It was dated July 13, 2026 when researched and displays employee name, job title, government email, and direct phone. It also lists shared division contacts. The static page has no built-in search, pagination, or export, so a browser's Find command is the fastest way to test a surname.

The published fields make it useful for reaching a named permit or code staff member, while the shared contacts provide a fallback.

Severn State Employee Directory

The Maryland Statewide Phone Directory can find an employee's work phone or email by any mix of first name, last name, and agency. All fields are optional. Search by employee when a name is known, or by agency when only the part of state government is clear. The directory is free and needs no login, but it states no update date, historic span, result cap, or export option.

The official Maryland phone book presents these three search controls.

This directory is current-contact infrastructure, not a personnel archive. For an older employee, turn to agency records, newspapers, or archives.

Severn Owner Name Directories

Property systems can operate like people directories, but their entry points differ. The Maryland SDAT Real Property search reveals owner names, mailing and premise addresses, account identifiers, legal descriptions, values, and sales references after a search by address, account, or map reference. It does not offer a public owner-name web search. MDLandRec instead indexes grantors and grantees in recorded land instruments and requires a free Maryland State Archives account.

An address search in SDAT may lead to an owner and liber-folio reference, then to a deed image in MDLandRec. County GIS can clarify parcel, subdivision, zoning, and planning geography, but SDAT remains the assessment source and the recorded deed controls title. If only a person's name is known, begin with the deed index or another record that supplies an address. Ownership details and request channels belong with the records system, not a household directory.

Severn Professional Directory Searches

Maryland professional directories are organized by regulator rather than by Severn. Each licensing board defines its own fields and result details. A counselor search can accept a partial license number or a first and last name and is updated daily. Other fields vary across nursing, medical, bar, contractor, real estate, cosmetology, and education authorities, so one board's result should never be treated as the model for another.

The Maryland Business Entity Search covers corporations, limited-liability entities, professional corporations, and trade names. Search by exact or partial entity name or Department ID. Results can show entity status, resident agent, and personal-property information; the amendments area commonly includes documents filed after August 2001. A resident agent is the person or entity designated to receive official legal papers, not necessarily the business owner or a person present at a Severn address.

Severn Cemetery Name Directory

The Anne Arundel Genealogical Society's cemetery system is a rare directory with direct Severn value. Its live list displayed 338 burial grounds when inspected. Search controls include a cemetery dropdown, surname text, and a restriction control. Results may provide current and former cemetery names, location, contact information, published transcriptions, approximate burial counts, veteran names, death-date range, affiliations, maps, and photographs.

Alternate cemetery names prevent a false dead end when a family remembers a road or surname instead of a formal church name.

Grave Matters, volume 1, covers 92 cemeteries in Severn and nearby northern-county communities. Its surname and maiden-name indexes can reconnect a woman across marriage records, an obituary, and a probate file. Private-property burial grounds still require permission to visit.

Severn Library Name Collections

The AACPL genealogy collection combines branch-only and cardholder resources. Ancestry Library Edition is available in branches. The Maryland Gazette archive needs an AACPL card, and Newspaper Archive USA is library-exclusive. The Capital page-image archive spans 1887 through 2025 under several title variants, so a surname should be repeated across each relevant catalog title.

General Local History Collection items may circulate and can be placed on hold for pickup at another branch. The Maryland Room and Kuethe Library support deeper work with local newspapers, surname files, family Bibles, church material, photographs, and obituary files. AAGS warns that its obituary index remains a work in progress.

Historical Severn Directory Limits

Printed directory coverage is the sharpest gap in a Severn name search. The Maryland State Archives guide is focused on Annapolis, not Severn. It identifies Polk directories for 1939 and 1972; other Annapolis material for 1896-97, 1910, 1924, 1934, and 1939; a 1925-26 Colored Directory section; telephone books for 1909, 1932, 1936-37, and 1947-48; and an Anne Arundel business section for 1887. These are isolated holdings, not a continuous Severn run.

City directory

A periodic list of residents or businesses arranged by name, sometimes with occupation and address.

Reverse directory

A street-first or phone-first list used to identify who was associated with an address or number.

Name index

A finding aid that points to a fuller census, probate, land, or other source.

Use the 1880 county census index, the 1703-1867 miscellaneous card index, deeds, probate, newspapers, church records, and cemetery material to bridge the missing household directories. No authoritative source reviewed confirmed a Severn reverse directory, current carrier white pages, public alumni list, or continuous Severn telephone-book collection. An Annapolis directory hit alone does not establish Severn residence.
